Dragon Dreaming 2016

Wee Jasper. Dragon Dreaming. Such a beautiful festival. Love the people who organised this and I love the people I shared my time there with. I wasn't in a good head-space, but there were some really beautiful moments.

Love.

Spoons & Noodles On The Way To Dragon Dreaming

Currently in a cheap hotel room in Albury en route to a festival, eating takeaway Thai noodles with teaspoons because we forgot to grab takeaway cutlery and had for some reason unpacked our usual camping cutlery from the car. Also, I decided to check what clothing I had packed in the drunken fug that was last night... apparently I was obsessed with socks and scarves and fairy lights but not so interested in T-shirts. Not a single T-shirt. So I'm going to be semi-naked underneath my warm things and the fairy lights I intend to wear.

Lee is not a good Boy Scout.

Although he will probably have to fashion T-shirt like apparel out of fallen leaves and wombat poo.

The Doughnut Of Love & AC/DC Wine Grumpies, Print Versions

A couple of hard copy scans of recent Grumpy columns (click on image to enlarge, then click again to make it readable), now that the mag has started sending them through again. If you've already read them, apologies for the repitition. It's just kinda nice for me seeing them in print.

Was noodling with a Grumpy plan today. 365 Grumpy columns together in one book, The Book Of Grumpy or The World According To Grumpy. Or maybe The Year Of Grumpy. It's an idea I've been toying with for ages but a while ago I sent the idea to an online lit agent modelled on New York's Miss Snark. Big mistake because this person shot the whole thing down. Really crapped all over my confidence about it.

But to hell with it - the column has been going for years now and why not put a whole bunch together in book form? Mainly, it would be fun. And who knows, maybe it could be the best seller I need to not have to work at crappy jobs anymore. Maybe my new vocation could be sitting on stage in an armchair, sipping wine and reading from The Book Of Grumpy to Leegions of adoring fans. Maybe this time next year I'll be appearing at the Melbourne Fringe instead of reviewing Fringe shows. Perhaps I will be reviewing my own show...

Also, and I hope this works, here is a link to some recent photos taken at a party called Dragon Dreaming.

New People

Oh funny. I accidentally came across this post from many months ago. The irony of me actually wondering if I should have met this online person in real life. And the irony of that tone of... it's kind of like I had accepted that that one meeting was going to be it and that I'm glad that at least it went well. I really thought I wouldn't be seeing her again and was so grateful that we got on in real life as well as we did online. Almost a year later and we've hung out many, many times in spite of the distance between us. Just made me laugh to think that after she went I really thought, that was that then. We'll be hanging out at another multi-day dance festival in just over a week and celebrating our birthdays together (her, I and The Dreaded One are in the same few days).

Same thing with this post, while I'm indulging in a little nostalgia. It now seems ludicrous that I actually wondered if this "new person" and I would stay in contact, given the many adventures like this one we've had since.
