Insomnia Part II

I have this thing where I sometimes wake up with poetry in my head. This was the one from this morning:

Awaken to the torment
Of 5am clarity.
Grey gloom,
Precious drizzle,
And Kurrawongs warbling
Like heartbroken angels.

Warbling kurrawongs and heartbroken angels are on your mind quite a bit lately, hey?

I like it.

It was more that I woke up and thought that line needed some company. It seemed a bit pointless to make up a single line and just leave it to hang out by itself.

I would have preferred to have the urge later in the day though.

Glad you like it.

The first time I heard kurrawongs warbling I stopped in my tracks, was in Sydney too. It's an amazing sound when you've never heard it before.

As for the kookaburra [is that the right spelling...?] Sounds like a market vendor.

Kurrawong song is actually very beautiful. I love it.

The kookaburra is a dumb fuck who needs to shut the hell up.

I remember hearing a kookaburra for the first time. I kept thinking, "Who the hell is laughing at me? Who?" And looking around trees and bushes in Kuringai Park. Finally someone let me in on the beast.
