If all of my neighbours look so normal when I see them in the corridors or out in the streets, why the hell do things like this happen?
Door buzzer rings. I pick the handset up.
"Hello?"
"Yes - hello," comes the slightly grumpy voice.
"Yes?" I prompt.
"Yes. Are you the one who gave me the bloody stupid clock?"
"What?"
"I said are you the one who gave me the this bloody stupid clock. Someone gave a me a clock and it's broken."
"No, I'm sorry, I didn't give you a clock."
"No? Oh."
"Goodbye."
They all look so normal, yet...

Are you sure this was a neighbor or just a homeless person wanting to return some gracious gift?
I don't know what the hell was going on, Good Queen Spazzhappy. It was probably just a random nutter.
Or... it was someone who was really sleepy. I've asked people strange things when I've been sleepy. Like where the bookshelf is, or if the lizard is eating soup.
They would have been perfect comebacks to the man with the clock...
"Are you the one who gave me this bloody stupid clock?"
"No, but I did find the bookshelf. And the lizard is eating soup. Pumpkin soup."
Bizarre! Have you seen that youtube video of the dog chasing something in it's sleep? Don't know why but your story kinda reminds me of that.
Well, seeing that we all do strange things...maybe being strange is actually normal and we don't know as yet.
Speak for yourself, GG. I have never done a strange thing in my life.
